LITTLETON—The Littleton Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament is shaping up to be their highlight event of the summer. Scheduled at Maplewood Golf Course for Friday, June 17 with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., this will be the tournament’s eleventh year.
Downtown Director Jess Bunker is looking forward to spending an afternoon in the sun and watching connections unfurl. “The golf tournament is a creative way to network,” reveals Bunker. “It’s a relationship builder amongst members, where they’re able to learn different things about one another than they would in a more formal setting. It’s like meeting someone over coffee instead of in a boardroom. We’re hoping partnerships built on the greens translate off the course.”
The Chamber is hoping to fill its maximum allotment of 30 teams, which they believe is feasible. The tournament’s success is, “A great example of what can be achieved when we have the commitment and energy of strong volunteers,” notes Bunker. “The Chamber really depends on the partnerships for this to be a success.”
Greg Allaire of Littleton Chevrolet has been involved in the tournament for the past six years, commenting “More teams means more fun. We hope to sign up as many teams as we can.” Littleton Chevrolet donated a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze for the Hole-in-One Prize. “We’re lucky that Greg has been a champion of this event, serving as chair of the committee over the past few years,” says Bunker. “We’re appreciative of the passion of this committee and how well received the tournament has been in a short amount of time.”
In addition to the Golf Tournament Committee, the Chamber is thankful for the power of community this event brings, emphasizing the “bigger, broader themes of the Chamber, such as relationship building, strategic partnering, and collaboration,” says Bunker. “We’re looking forward to highlighting our participating members, both through our sponsors and the players.
Members of the community are welcome to sign up as well. According to Bunker, teams are welcome to partner with other businesses to enhance networking opportunities. Golfers can sign up at the chamber office in the Littleton Opera House, or online at www.littletonareachambernh.com/golf/.
